Review of European nuclear power plants to be continued
At their meeting in Brussels on 25 April, the heads of the European nuclear safety regulators and the European Commission endorsed the report on the review of nuclear power plants in the EU by an international team of experts and agreed on additional measures.

Opening of IFAT ENTSORGA
On 6 May Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Environment Ministry, Katherina Reiche, participated in the opening of IFAT ENTSORGA 2012, the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. The trade fair runs until 11 May 2012 and brings 2,900 exhibitors from 54 countries together in Munich.

New Secretariat of United Nations (IPBES) will be located in Bonn
At a meeting in Panama, the international community decided that the UN Secretariat for the newly established Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, or IPBES for short, will be located in Bonn, Germany. This decision in favour of Bonn also presents an international acknowledgement of Germany’s continued and convincing commitment to the conservation of biological diversity.
